The Ledges is a private, gated golf community on Huntsville Mountain — 740 acres, 250 single-family homesites, and roughly $300 million invested across about a decade of development. The eighteen-hole championship course was designed by Hurdzan/Fry in the late 1990s, and the golf corridor doubles as a continuous greenbelt wrapping the residential villages, so most homes back to open ground rather than another house.
The 42,000-square-foot clubhouse looks out over downtown Huntsville and holds dining, a fitness center, a pool, and event space. The club puts its elevation at 1,582 feet, the highest point in Huntsville; building here meant cutting a two-and-a-half-mile access road up the mountainside and pumping water 950 vertical feet. Homes are custom-built and sit among the largest in the metro.
