Hays Farm is an 850-acre master-planned community in south Huntsville, built on land the Hays family farmed for five generations after purchasing it in 1906. More than 500 acres of the original property are preserved as the L.G. and Rena DeFord Hays Green — a four-park system with roughly 65 acres of lakes and about 10 miles of paved walking trails. The nine-acre Park at Hays Farm opened in late 2025 with walking paths, water features, a pavilion, playgrounds, and fitness areas, all tied into Huntsville's greenway network. Homes are built by Enfinger Development across two neighborhoods with a range of lot sizes and price points, and residents share a clubhouse, pool, bocce courts, and playground. Grissom High School sits within the community, and Redstone Arsenal's Gate 3 and Huntsville Hospital are both a short drive away.
