McMullen Cove is a gated, master-planned community set in a secluded valley in the foothills of the Cumberland Plateau, bordered by the Flint River and about three miles from the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Hampton Cove. It was developed by the Enfinger Companies and is built out across a dozen distinct sub-neighborhoods, from Abby Glen and Avonlea to Old Cove, Silo Hill, and Stratford.

The draw is what surrounds the houses: the private Tony Wilmer Trail System, now more than twenty-five miles of it, plus private lakes, ponds, river access, and a mountain-top retreat with a gazebo and fire pit. The Commons clubhouse holds a saltwater resort-style pool, an Olympic lap pool, and a splash pool, along with tennis and basketball courts, a playground, and sand volleyball. The original farm silo still stands on site, a marker of the land's history under the McMullen, Acuff, and Watson families.
